War and Christian Ethics: Classic and Contemporary Readings on the Morality of War by Arthur F. Holmes
Excellent primary source reader dealing with the various Christian traditions of war and peace. Holmes certainly leans to the classical just war tradition; therefore, his selections reflect elements of his own position and only give a limited perspective on Christian pacifism (although there is admittedly more material on just war than pacifism in the Christian tradition).
A helpful element of this second edition is that Holmes has added selections to address war and peace within the show more contemporary, post-9/11 culture. Overall, this is an excellent book that serves as a great resource for those interested in war and peace from a Christian perspective. show less
