Very informative and well written enough to constitute as a fair quick-read on the history of one of film's greatest monsters. It scrolls through the timeline thoroughly and chronicles some real world events that gave rise and form to Godzilla- how the monster has both lost and garnered respect over time and has cemented his place as a timeless creation that shaped history. Some of the text mashed a bunch of names together sometimes so I had to flip back and remind myself of who was who- and show more the author of the magazine seems to have a bias against certain movies and makes that clear in a few areas. It was something I could overlook, but it's a largely educational entertainment publication- not a movie critic's diary or a persuasion. I was bouncing between 4.5 to 5 stars, but ultimately settled on 4.5 due to the tone and diction in some places. That may sound picky, but it can have room for improvement- even if mild.
I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to learn more about Godzilla and pick up a few history lessons textured with grit and grim along the way. Surely, there's at least one or two things in the magazine that even the most die hard Godzilla fan isn't entirely familiar with- or they can serve to be reminded of. I even learned several things and I'm a big fan myself!

Not your typical newsstand cash-grab recycling common images of a star.
I have many books & magazines about Audrey, but this one consists almost entirely of rare & unusual photos of her. Examples: Red leotard ballet stretching series of 4 photos shot outdoors. Grocery shopping for graham crackers with her pet deer Ip (apparently a.k.a. Pippin). Imitating her dog's begging (paws held up) posture. Napping on a couch by a big window with both of these pets. Interesting candid shots on film sets show more and with her kids. All shot by Bob Willoughby.
It goes without saying that this is highly recommended to the Audrey connoisseur or newbie alike, but the former group will be the most dazzled.

Compiled just after his demise, this biographical retrospective covers the life and recoding career of the Man in Black. It is rather informal and even cheeky in text as if the writing were given over to enthusiastic, young interns. Much of this text includes quotes from family, colleagues and other artists. Being LIFE, the real value is in the large, candid and seldom seen full color images.
This short introduction into the lives of Bob Dylan just serves to confirm something I've suspected for a long time.

Extremely talented people can also be extremely offputting shitheads. But if they manage to survive past their thirties and continue to produce something worth reading/watching/listening to, then they tend to rise above that shitheadedness and actually turn into someone that's somewhat respectable.

Dylan's one of those people.
