Bjorn Landstrom is an amazing artist, and this book is filled with his huge, color illustrations of all types of ships throughout history. Landstrom is especially interested in Egyptian and Scandinavian ships, and these histories are especially fleshed out. Even though this book would have been worth looking at for just the pictures, the text of this book is equally interesting, and I've learned a ton about ships and their historical development through this book.
Samenvatting:
Attractive compact, almost pocket size, history of sailing ships of the western world. Detailed drawings and paintings are carefully keyed to the concise descriptive text.
