I liked a short story of hers that I came across many years ago. I bought a novel to see how she does in that format. It's been waiting at least a decade for me to read. Doesn't seem to have good reviews :/ Cool cover though.
--------------

DNF at 35% Mediocre writing and a subject that is no longer interesting to me, if it ever was.

Some ancient evil descends upon people partying, tourist-ing or sexing in the woods. They see lots of creepy eyes appear and evil whispery voices then a fade to show more black and upon return, there are bodies terribly mutilated including a boob getting ripped off. (so 80's)

Our MC is a Native American who gave up being a Shaman as a teen, against his family and community wishes. He was a 'dreamer of dreams' and had a calling but he turned his back on it to get a university education and see more than the reservation. But he returns for potential work and this evil stuff starts happening so I guess it's up to him to sort it out.

I was starting to have some thoughts of boredom and asking myself why I'd continue when the evil eyes and whispery voices killed most of a dog pack with pups. Some little kids were the ones to find a mutilated survivor. Stupid.

Wrote Reunion (which I liked) in the book The Ultimate Witch
