A tragic story about fighting with scratch forces in the face of local tactical and air superiority. The prose is reasonable, an the author reasonably well read. Sadly to the modern taste there is less about the IJN than the other navies in this battle.
Study of the need for air superiority. The British fleet was mauled by German airpower while evacuating Greece and later Crete, in part due to the lack of British air power.
