This book is frustrating. 1st off 5 stars for beautiful photographs and a gorgeous book including the inner fold. But all my overall review come from all the little quirks of Tachen books which I love because they are so beautiful. But they also annoy me. 1st: Architectural graphics- trust me when I say they are beautiful, but some are outright unreadable. How about some line weights, proper walland doors, editing for some of the line work that is too busy, etc. 2nd, there are not enough show more images of lesser known works. Would be nice to see the projects that don't get the buzz, even if just a smattering. It will lead to understanding of Gaudi as a practioner. 3rd. Inconsistent text. Is Guadi a continuation of the gothic in practice or is he a genius on his own path. It literally can change sentence to sentence. 4th Zebrest doesn't have a great lexicon on architectural form and comparative study. But he tries to go there. He shouldn't or should get up to speed. 5th: Allot of talk on how things evolve citing comparative drawings. But nothing is ever shown. On the flip side, I do think Zebrst was getting somewhere on discussions with client direction, budgets, local authorities which could have been interesting from a practitioner's perspective. But doesn't go deep which for this type of survey 📖 show less
