What a ride!

I admit that I was super iffy on the writing style at first and wasn't too sure that the story would be for me, but I actually grew into my liking for the characters and found myself invested in them.

And oooh boy did some of their story lines leave me reeling. The last hundred pages or so really had me flying through them and I even found my jaw dropping to the floor towards the end end.

I definitely think that my interest was piqued enough to continue on with the series.
Evil witches, heroes who are trying to ensure their world survives and that they do too.

It's not bad but it didn't really engage me as well as I might. it's too close to horror for my liking. I prefer a bit less bleak in my fantasy.

Epic dark fantasy at its finest. A host of captivating characters, violence, magic, and even a dragon eventually. Loved it
Pallid copy of Game of Thrones but without even the wit or subtlety of the original. Clumsy and dull trudge through a copy-and-paste fantasy world. Characters speak only in clichés and act only in odd contradictions.
