Romance (Harlequin?) Set in Greece in Name that Book (December 2013)
Reviews
Heroine Domino Graham’s pregnant, married sister Delphine, is threatened with kidnapping. Domino takes Delphine’s place until the danger is over. While staying at her sister’s Austrian chalet she meets the man that is to be her bodyguard, Ace Edwards. Sparks fly when they are together, but how can Domino show her attraction to Ace when she is pretending to be the married Delphine?
I sometimes enjoy a forbidden kind of romance so I found this one interesting. I liked the cold, remote ski show more chalet setting, and the tension that kept building between Domino and Ace… Domino not being able to tell Ace who she really is, and Ace, thinking Domino is a married woman, but being attracted to her. Domino had some TSTL (too stupid to live) moments, and the hero was quite abrupt and cranky at times, but this was still a very entertaining read. show less

This is the weirdest harlequin I ever read.
If you're looking for romance, as in violins and moonlight and true love and hearts and doves and such, don't read this. You'll be disgusted by this text.
This is one of those harlequins that has a 'hero' who is all force and determination displaying both a sadistic, cruel, insane, obsessive, over the top personality and the methods to match to make sure the heroine is utterly degraded and abused into convincing herself that she 'loves' him and he show more 'loves' her.
Do not be surprised to find:
police interrogation methods including putting the girl in the glare of a bright light, twisting arms, locking and bolting doors and windows, nearly drowning her in the pool to make a point, and the list goes on.
No - I'm not kidding. This is actually in this romance novel. I would not have been surprised if the "coachload of campanologists" referred to in chapter three, had played a bigger role than they did.
As I said, this is the weirdest one I've read to date.
If you want to read this, it's probably best if you found yourself a second-hand paperback copy, as I'm hoping there would have been a lot less spelling, editing and missing parts of sentences problems in the original paperback version. show less

Sweet and innocent stewardess Lyn Maxwell is dating handsome pilot Beric Dane. They are falling in love and everything is wonderful until one day, after a flight, there is a customs check at the airport and heroin is found in Lyn's bag. After Lyn is questioned by the police, and put in jail, she eventually goes on trial and is found guilty of smuggling narcotics into the country. She is then sent to prison for three years. During this time, Lyn, who is innocent, is trying to find out who show more planted the drugs on her. The only person who had access to her bag at that time, and could have done it, is her boyfriend Beric! Angry and hurt, Lyn spends years in prison, planning her revenge against (innocent) Beric. When she finally gets out of prison, three years later, she gets plastic surgery, dyes her brown hair blonde, changes her name, and goes looking for Beric---I don't want to give any more of the plot away.
This was a really over-the-top read! It wasn't a very romantic story, since the heroine was so consumed with revenge, but I still had a hard time putting this book down. I was always curious to see what was going to happen next. Lyn wasn't a very likable heroine. I felt sorry for poor Beric! (Even though it's fun sometimes when the heroine gives the hero a hard time, it's usually the other way around in "Presents"!) It was interesting seeing how innocent Lyn became so cold, hard, and determined after prison. This was a very enjoyable vintage "Harlequin Presents". A captivating and crazy read! show less

I read this one hoping for a lot since SW is the author of one of my all time favorite HPs, The Judas Kiss. This one might not be quite that much but it was really good. The hero, Ace, tried so hard not to fall for Domino since she was pretending to be her married sister (foiling a kidnapping plot) but alas could not hold out against her. Once he decided to love her he was all in. I liked that once he made up his mind that he loved her he tried hard to convince her to leave her 'husband' for show more him. That sounds callous but I think the thing that made it workable is that he was convinced from her actions that she hadn't ever loved her 'husband' and that what they had together was more important than the money and social standing that she was supposedly receiving in her 'marriage.' He forgave her waffling as she tried to keep her secret over and over. A lot of passion and angst. She was a strong character not doormatty at all. show less
