Accidental memory loss, secret witch, small-town chaos? SOLD!
Okay but Stupid Spellbound Love?? This was such a FUN read.
First... let's talk about this beautiful cover... gorgeous!!!
I went into this wanting something cozy, easy, a little magical… and it delivered EXACTLY that.
We’ve got Coco — secret witch, small-town vibes, just trying to live her life… and then accidentally causes memory loss chaos.
And when I say chaos… I mean watching her try to manage the situation SHE created show more while everything slowly spirals?? I was stressed and entertained at the same time.
And then there’s Stone — because tell me why the “before” and “after the spell” versions of him feel like two different men??
Like the dynamic?? Sweet, awkward, a little tense, but also so easy to root for.
And the whole town of Mystic Meadows felt so whimsical and charming without being over the top & it just adds to that cozy, magical vibe. But what really makes this work is that it doesn’t take itself too seriously.
It leans into the tropes, the chaos, the clichés, and the rom-com absurdity but in a way that feels FUN, not cringe.
It literally gave me 90s rom-com energy with a magical twist… like the kind of story you finish with a soft little smile because everything wraps up just right.
But let’s talk about the real star: the accidental memory loss trope!! Because watching Coco deal with the mess she created.......I was STRESSED… but also fully entertained.
And Stone....with the difference between who he was before and after the spell… had me hooked.
Their dynamic is soft, a little chaotic, and just enough tension to keep you invested without ever feeling heavy. A little ridiculous, super charming, and somehow leaves you with that soft, happy “everything worked out” feeling.
Thank you Amy Boyles for the gifted book. I'm so happy to have read this and give my honest thoughts.
Confession: accidental memory loss?? I’m immediately invested. show less

Listened to the audiobook at 1.5x speed.
The book (and its narrator) were a refreshing turn from Thackeray’s long-winded exposition. Funny, quick, and light, this was a great new (to me) cozy embedded with a skeptical lead, her crazy relatives, and, best of all, Jennie Butts (a local person..). Dawe’s depiction of Butts’s hand-pumping “y’all y’all y’all” (at 1.5x speed) is my favorite new thing.
I enjoyed the added “twist” of witchcraft and how the author incorporated it show more into regular life, and I thought the romance was fun and, importantly, funny, making it very entertaining to “watch” develop. Although the mystery did not surprise me, I still thought it was well done and definitely look forward to book 2!

First, as. southerner myself, I loved that this book was set in the South. I loved that her mom went on.a trip to Orange Beach, which is where we vacation. I really love seeing Southern representation in books.
Secondly, this book was extremely cute and wholesome. Yes, there is some spicy scenes, but the rest of the story is so sweet I got a tooth ache! Like a magical farm filled with pug-like piggies with unicorn horns? CUTE!
From Payne to Rowe, and the multitude of other characters, show more each and every one was well thought out and well written. The story flowed well and was easy to listen to as an audiobook. Narrators were great. The author’s descriptions and writings was spot-on. I found myself immersed in this magical world and I didn’t want to leave.
This book had some seriously funny moments and I found myself laughing out loud several times. I enjoyed the humor and Payne and Rowe’s banter.
Now, thirdly, where can I get a piggycorn for myself? They sound absolutely adorable! show less

Stupid magical love
⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 (4.5/5)
This was soo so fun! I loved every moment of it.
• The dynamics between Rowe and Pane was so entertaining.
• Rowe was headstrong, stubborn while being gentle and fun at the same time and Pane was ah-mazing!
• It has small town whimsical vibes with magical creatures, piggycorns? wow!!
• The way Pane would call the pigs swine and Rowe would be so offended?!
• loved how desperately they both tried to ignore the attraction between them...and show more failed spectaculary, I was squealing, giggling at the tension and chemistry between them, It was utterly deliciouss!
• The town's people were so real- some fun some not , And Rowe's friendship with her bestt friend was hilarious, I loved how the characters each had their own depth and their motivations were clearly specified. Absolutely adored how Pane slowly integrated into the town circle, how he became friends with everyone.
• I enjoyed the third arc breakup (shocking), I understood the reason, and the way it was resolved- I was swooning!
❤️ This being an audioboook elevated the expecience and made this soo fun, I'm so so impressed by the narrators because- the way Rowe's gritting of teeth, her sighs of annoyance, dsperation was clearly translated made it so immersive and listening to finn's pov was so hilariousand fun- i loved every moment of it! Also the difference in accents.. like fins had posh way of speaking and rho's being different was soo good.
❤️ I totally recommend this, Listen to this, it is absolutely fun! show less
