Welcome to Hell by Demelza Carlton is a hilarious introduction to the Hell Corporation. Good for some giggles and laughs as Demelza pokes fun at Hell. Meet Lucifer, the CEO and quite the hunk. He’s already got an evil glint in his eye when he literally runs into Mel as she is applying for a job. How would you prepare for a job at HELL Corporation? (Health Environments Life and Lands Corporation) Raphael at the Helpful Angels Agency tells her Mel has the job. She would be at Hells door show more promptly at nine. Demelza describes Mel’s commute on the train after the interview. I couldn’t help but chuckle as she talks about the briefcase, but I burst out belly laughing when she talked about farting. Does an Angel fart?

Ocean’s Gift by Demelza Carlton left me gasping for breath. It seems like I have been waiting forever for an excellent mermaid story like this. Demelza Carlton says you will never look at mermaids the same way again and she is so right.
The cover for Ocean’s Gift had me stopping in my tracks. I knew I was going to read this book without looking any further. Mermaids, romance and a subtle ecological warning are some of the things to look forward to in this amazing novel. Demelza writes as show more if mermaids are real and they could be your next door neighbor. Her characters come alive on the pages as the fascinating story develops.
As soon as I hit 7%, I felt like jumping up and down for joy. I love mermaid stories and the writing and plot have me super excited to read more about Sirena and Joe. Will I be able to put down the book or will I have to read straight through? Curiosity makes me read on – what is the ocean’s gift?
The more I read, the more excited I became. I feel as if the book was written especially for me. Demelza Carlton writes with a light and comical air at times that made me smile and feel as if I was a part of their conversations as they puzzled over us humans actions and interactions.
Ocean’s Gift is written from three points of view, Joe’s, Sirena’s and Belinda’s. At first, I wasn’t sure I was going to like this, but I began to look forward to what each person would think and feel about the occurring events. I seemed to relate to each character on a deeper level when I read their viewpoint.
Joe – I fell for him and I was only 5% into the story. He made me smile and he looks pretty good too. He’s a sparky, an electrician. He lives with his folks and owns nothing. He works setting up remote mining camps and loves fishing. His biggest goal is to make enough money to buy his own home. He loves beer and boobs, no doubt about that.
His mining coworker asks him, “How’d you like to fish for two months and get paid for it?” My mind is spinning as different scenarios play out. Will there be a shipwreck? Will he almost drown and Sirena save him? How he will meet Sirena? Will they hook up?
Sirena (Vanessa) – a super hot babe and a bit of a hussy. She is the leader of the Elders and is determined to warn the humans of what is to come, but she still has time to play with Joe.
She was an elder among our people, but today she sounds as silly as the sixteen year old child who dared defy the entire Elder Council.
Belinda - Sirena’s daughter. I related to her easily. She is quick to anger and has a mouth like a sailor. She doesn’t hesitate to speak her mind. She keeps watch over Sirena, especially when she is with Joe.
Maria – a gay mermaid, not understanding humans at all and just wants to go home. I mean how real is that? A gay mermaid. I busted out laughing, loving it.
Demelza Carlton’s description of Belinda and Maria frolicking with the dolphins, had me wishing I was a mermaid too. Their version of fishing is so much different than ours. I would love to fly through the ocean with them, leaping and twisting in the wind, feeling the sea wash over me.
Joe threw his empty beer bottle into the ocean and it came back to him. I had to crack up laughing over this. How do you think that happened?
“Have you been playing with dolphins?”
The trio is there to warn the humans about the dire ocean conditions before it is too late. By saving humankind, they would be saving themselves. They are all females and need human males to perpetuate their species.
The ecological warning is very subtle and woven into the story in excellent fashion.
I thought I would be let down when the book was done, but I know another book is waiting to be read. An awesome ending that put a smile on my face, making me want to read the next book right now.
If I didn’t know better, I’d think this is a true story.
My favorite part????? I cannot pick just one.
I received this book in return for an honest and unbiased review. I am eager to read the next book in the series, Ocean’s Infiltrator. show less

Yippee! Another mermaid story, Ocean’s Justice by Demelza Carlton.
A humorous and sexy introduction to Demelza’s new Ocean’s Justice series. Recommended for adults.
This novella only took me a couple of hours. I was curious, happy, sad and left wanting MORE.
I love a kickass female protagonist, no matter WHAT she is!
A woman on a ship of superstitious men cannot be good. But she has two men that will do whatever they can to see that she is okay and stays that way.
William McGregor pulled show more her from the sea. He quickly becomes her protector, her hero. Little does he know, she can take care of herself. He is a gentleman and proves that chivalry still exists.
Charlie, the embarrassed young man, whose clothes she wears, has a serious crush on her.
Allchin – what a great name for the cook. Hints at the humor in Demelza’s wonderful tale.
She is in a world where she knows nothing and cannot communicate. Where did she come from?
Her introduction to chocolate is a sensual one.
Her first taste of rum was a doozy.
Demelza Carlton has a way with words. Her descriptions are vivid and place me right in the middle of the action, like a fly on the wall.
I love her blend of savagery and humor. Even during the worst parts, I usually have a smile on my face. I hope that doesn’t tell my badness.
At the end of the novella, Demelza asks, “What is your favorite part of the story?” It’s hard to choose just one.
I smiled through so much, I will have to say, the part that put tears in my eyes. BUT, I cannot tell you that part. You will have to find out for yourself. If you love mermaids, Ocean’s Justice is a MUST READ.
I wanted to be able to say, “Tell me what hurts, you great big baby, so I know what to tend first.” show less

Recommended for Adults. Lots of hot and steamy sex scenes.
Ocean’s Gift, Book I, made me teary eyed as I was left with the most awful cliffhanger imaginable for a mermaid story. Alone…in the sea…watching her human sail away.
Ocean’s Infiltrator by Demelza Carlton is Book II of the Ocean’s Gift series and I am so happy to find out if Sirena (Vanessa is her human name) will have a happy ever after or kill her human. What would she do…send a Hitfish to take him out? I couldn’t help show more but laugh!
The Ocean’s Gift series carries a message along with the fantasy. Sirena (Vanessa) is the Ocean’s Infiltrator, doing her best to warn humankind of the damage being done to the oceans and seas. Now the question – continue to help the humans or let them die?
She travels between the ocean and land, making the transition easily. On land she is a Harley riding badass. She is very much her own “woman” – funny, a tease, a lover, a mommy, a leader, and a mermaid – the complete fantasy package.
Joe and Vanessa cannot keep their hands off each other. They are soulmates, fins and all.
Do you want to know how mermaids have sex? Well, you will learn more than you ever thought to ask, in Ocean’s Infiltrator. The sexual tension between Vanessa and Joe steam up my Kindle, love and romance oozing off the “pages”, making it too hot to handle. My only complaint is sometimes I thought the sex was there, just for sex’s sake, but maybe mermaids have to grab it when they can. LOL
The characters, mermaid and human alike, are complex and I am sure you will find your favorite, just like I did.
Politics and a world beneath the waves to rival our own. Atlantis…I was there!
I love the hints and warnings of the damage being done to the oceans and seas. They fit right in and leave me thinking, what can I do? Who is our Ambassador of the deep? After all, I don’t want to be the one that contributes to the extinction of the mermaids. Do you?
Demelza Carlton’s writing brings the Ocean’s Infiltrator world to life. I was entranced and enchanted, letting the story wrap around me like a warm, wonderful cocoon, leaving me with a dreamy smile on my face and a wandering gleam in my eyes.
I hated to see the Ocean’s Gift series end and it will stick with me for a long, long time. I look forward to reading more of Demelza Carlton’s work! show less
