If you are looking for bright and cheery than move along and pass go without collecting $200 because you will not find it here. There are no happy endings. Hell, this is beyond pitch black. This is darker than 13 shades of midnight. Plan on needing therapy because there is a high possibility of finding yourself in the fetal position rocking back and forth in a catatonic trance. I will update this review as I read more of it. For now, it is a review for two of the stories; Used by Cari show more Silverwood and Catacombs by Addison Cain.

This series... Mmmmm Hmmm. There is something about mind control and fantasy and not being in control that is just delicious. This author can weave a tale better than just about anyone I have read that writes dark and twisty. If I close my eyes I can picture the scene that she is writing. I am not sure what that says about me that I am drawn to her work --or that I LOVE it so much because like I said this author pushed the envelope of what is right and moral.
If you don't like dark, taboo, or 'Heroes" that tend to be more questionable than swoony then look no further. I will gladly keep following this author down the rabbit hole (and have extra therapy sessions available if needed when the time comes). Anxious for the rest of this box set to come out.
Catacombs by Addison Cain
5 Hellish stars
This author is known for pushing the limits of reality. Her innate skill at crafting a world or situation is truly sublime. I felt so bad for Pearl in this story. It was deliciously dark and I wanted it to be a full story. I wanted backstory. I wanted an expansion of what transpired with Darius at the end. I just wanted...MORE. Yet, that is nothing new because I never want the words from this author to end.
If you are squeamish, have trigger issues, or like magical unicorn dreams and happily ever after then this is not your book but if dark, twisted, and delicious is your thing and you want to push your limits then I implore you to read this anthology of the best authors and stories out there. show less

This is the three books in the Wrens song series in one handy volume.
Let me tell you this is dirty dark dystopian Reverse Harem Omegaverse at its best and in my opinion is the darkest and dirtiest of this author's addictive work.
Book one: Branded Captive.
Branded Captive itself is one of the most debauched and filthy and did I mention depraved folks: (as my brains gone bye byes for the moment after wallowing around in that murky cesspit of sinful degeneracy.)
That I have experienced in a very show more long time and I devoured every decadent perverted instance portrayed here like with tongue hanging out: god I'm such a deviant!!!
You can almost taste the desperation and despair in the air.
Our three alphas Caspian, Kieran and Toby are so completely bad and unredeemable they are so not good guys and are used to taking what they want and in this instant, they want Wren one defective mute albino Omega and they are prepared to use whatever means to get her to comply and in this instance with her adoptive foundlings health at risk Wren knows her options are severely limited here.
Book Two: Silent Captive
Oh, how much further down this depraved rabbit-hole can poor wren even fall as she is taken and used for these selfish alphas pleasure.
All with there own personal agendas and this one is even dirtier than its predecessor: I definitely need to scrub my eyeballs clean with some bleach after immersing myself in this purely decadent filth and oh my the language used here by our alphas it was so shockingly disgusting but also so hot, horny and heavy too.
You will most certainly despise Caspian Kieran and Toby I know I did
Silent Captive smashed and obliterated my walls dragging me kicking and screaming out of my comfort zone: this is dark dubious consent with a side serving of humiliation and this author just does this so darn well.
Book three: Broken Captive
This was super dark and diabolic: everything thing broken and messed up wrapped up in one big dirty filthy dystopian bow.
Caspian, Toby and Kieran are psychotic power hungry men who lack a basic conscience or any sort of compassion and empathy.
But the point is the story should have had me screaming for the hills it's just that extreme and wrong.
But what should turn me the hell off here did the exact opposite and made me dig in my heels for the long haul.
this was such compelling reading that I couldn't put it down: whether you love this or hate it this is one story that you won't forget in a hurry its certainly in a league all of its own in that respect.
If you think you can handle this level of dark then this one certainly delivers on that front.
Just please be aware this series is hardcore and doesn't pull its punches one little bit.
This is dark omegaverse folks, please take heed and know your limits this is not a romance.
This one gets a very twisted thumbs up from me.

I suppose we're both monsters; Black hair hung in his eyes as he turned her chin to taste her mouth. "At least I didn't try to eat her, lost lamb.
Oh, my Star and moon this was bloody good.
Like seriously I really couldn't get enough of this darkly sadistic depraved tale.
I'm not even sure how to start describing this madhouse of mayhem.
So this places us in a fictional fantasy landscape set in space, so its a sci-fi Yes?
Well, it sort of is but its also so show more much more sci-fi / Erotica / Horror / dystopian; We have a bit of everything all mashed up together to create this fantastical adventure that I honestly have nothing to compare it to.
everything that shouldn't have worked did; this author has the exceptional ability to create whole masterpieces when it comes to her world building skills.
This is something she absolutely excels at.
What she's is also a master at is giving me a story that I didn't even know I wanted never mind needed.
I am having quite a time lately with dark fiction that I am actually struggling to accept emotionally which as a result is reflecting in my final book ratings.
I am not even sure what the correct combination for myself even is so to expect anyone else to get it is a bloody long stretch, but Addison Cain seems to have punched my ticket because she gets the formula correct for me every single time.
Definite auto-buy author.
This is dark dubious material skirting the edge constantly in regards to its content.
dub-con bordering at times on non-con and I seriously devoured every depraved scenario we were given here.
Oh, Sigil.” Sovereign slid his lips over her ear. “It had to happen this way. Can you not already feel me working inside you, undoing the damage? Does it not satisfy to be mounted by your own kind? Every time we mate, you’ll know completion. You’ll chemically recognize your place until you are healed of the poison they inflicted on you to punish me.
Sigil/Quinn is a complete psychopath with very few redeeming qualities of these anomalies was her compulsion to save neglected children and provide them with an alternative (probably an understandable result of her own horrific childhood)
And her love of Que her unemotional alien companion and saviour.
Her devotion and internal gratitude to this particular individual is very apparent.
While playing the role of master and slave on the space station Pax Sigil is discovered by the very species that she has been evading for years.
With Sovereign and the brothers ready to reclaim Sigil as imperial Consort to the Irdesi empire they are willing to do whatever it takes to claim and dominate this elusive escapee.
Sigil is right back at ya and the trials and agonies she is willing to endure to evade sovereigns attentions was truly astounding.
Sovereign I'm still not sure of but I do think he generally cares in his own unique fashion and even when he does what is necessary his words still reflect his hope and blind devotion that Sigil will return his affections some day.
We left Sigil (Irdesi Empire #1) on a shocking cliffhanger that had me screaming NO!!!
Will be starting the next instalment immediately after that one; how could I not.
Before I go just a small observation Sigil, in my opinion, is one of the most crazy-ass female characters I have ever encountered.
I mean geez this girl has actually eaten people.
Quinn envisioned plucking out one of his unimaginable eyes and crushing it to jelly—or maybe eating it, swallowing down a piece of him while he watched. The fantasy blossomed, made her smile, and she slipped further into manic bloodlust.
What am I saying she was completely the bomb and I adored her crazy lab-engineered butt.
You so rock girlie.
I am really looking forward to my next Sigil fix.
This won't be one for everyone, but this one was definitely my particular brand of bad.
As an added bonus Sigil (Irdesi Empire #1) is also available through KU.
For clarification, this review is for the re-released book.
All opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

A pretty depressing one even for a dystopian but I couldn't stop reading. More character development and of course the male character is blind to his first love's flaws but the blinder is slowly coming off. His manipulations are really disturbing. He checks all the boxes: controlling- check, stalker tendencies- check, possessive as the devil- check, sexually demanding-check, morally dark grey- check. The mansplaining and I-know-better-than-you is infuriating but it's still hot when he's so show more demanding and controlling. I like the side characters a lot- especially Maryanne. There are a lot of mind games and it's hard to tell when the main character is lying to herself. I'm ready to read book three but decided I needed a few hours sleep lol show less
