Great information to have when you're sitting at the table. You learn all the basic tells and the percent likelihood that the tell is accurate. Blend that info with everything else you know about the hand and the player and you're likely to make more correct decisions - and that's what it's all about in the long run, correct decisions. Also learn not to give the same tells to everyone else at the table who I'm sure have read the same book... Plus, Caro's a nut and a crack up, which makes it show more entertaining. show less
This guy is insane. I've read this book at least twice but I think so many other people have also read it that they've learned to cover their most obvious weak spots. Oh well. Good against newbies.
The old (pre-2000) edition of this book is preferable (the post-2000 edition has much darker pictures, which are MUCH harder to read). This is the classic work on poker tells; it's still required reading, although Caro doesn't explain WHY the tells work all the time (aside from "strong=weak," and "weak=strong"). The "tell value" counts are almost useless, as the game conditions have changed, and many of the tells are unique to games that are rarely played (like draw).
