These days is seems that everyone plays no-limit Texas Hold'em. So this book is somewhat dated as examples are also taken from stud, Omaha, Limit Hold'em etc. Nevertheless the advice is sensibble and the concepts applicable to NLTH
this is the book I tell everyone to read first. A bit mathematical, but if you read it, play, read it again, rinse, repeat, you can become a very solid limit player. I've read mine about 7-8 times, the spine broke on the first one so I had to buy a second one.
Arguably the best book on the mathematics and game theory of poker. Lays out the Fundamental Theory of Poker, and then uses it (with copious examples) to walk the reader through exercises that will strengthen their game. A must-read for any serious poker player!
A core book for any library, read even before reading any of Brunson's Super System books. The best book I've found regarding betting strategy.
