This little pocket-sized book is really simply an extended essay on its subject, but it's an interesting one. The authors compare and contrast several art exhibitions conceived by the Situationist International, not all of which were actually mounted/brought to reality. The main focus, as could probably be expected, is on the recuperation of the SI into the modern museum/art gallery context. If you're not familiar with the history of the SI or its theory, this is not the place to start, but show more the book does make a nice addition to any reference shelf on radical culture and the Situationist International in particular. The insights presented are cogented without being overly obscure or impenetrable. show less
