This book follows a little girl, Ellie, and her dog as they move through the story. The book has great tabs that change the picture when you pull on them. It shows the change from fall to winter, as her dog sees a squirrel in the tree he runs to it, you then pull the tab and the leaves fall off of the tree. The story would be great for a read aloud because the students can guess what might happen on each page before you pull the tab to reveal what has happened. It also could be a great tool show more when talking about seasons and the changes that occur from season to season. show less
This book is a fun book to read with Kindergarten and maybe first grade students. I think I would read it at the beginning of the school year because it is similar to the experience of of coming to school for the first time or after summer break. It is also a great home-read for little ones.
This is a cute book for introducing seasons and what happens in each season (as long as you don't live in New Orleans...) It shows the progress of things from spring to summer, summer to fall, fall to winter, and winter back to spring.
Just as I am is a book about a young elephant accepting his big, long nose. He and his friends paly games like hide and go seek but little elephant's nose keeps getting in the way of things and spoils all the games. Little elphant feels sad and doesn't like the way his nose is. When his mother comforts him and tells him how is nose can be great. Little elephant and his friends are playing in a waterhole so he decides to fill his trunk up and makes huge waves and fountains. Little elephant show more and his friends have a great time playing together and little elephant likes himself just the way he is.
This is would a great book to read to children to show how people are different and how it is a good thing.
