A slim book explaining how to use both the hero's journey and three-act structure to plot a novel. Explained in easy-to-understand terms, with just enough guidance and examples to make it sound easy. I intend to try out this method on the book I've just started. I'm already a fan of plotting, having used a multi-page plot for my last book, and I like the idea of using time-tested structures to create the next one. I'll update this as the book progresses and I see how it works and how it show more compares to the last method I used, which was much less structured. show less
I really liked this book because of the interesting pictures and interesting facts. I rated this book a 3/5 due to the interesting information, but lack of sufficient science information. This will be a great book for short lessons in the classroom.
This book takes you through the history and culture of the Mayan lifestyle. It touches briefly on science and technology of the ancient Mayan’s; however, the brief information included is very useful. Students can briefly learn how the Maya culture contributed to astrology and their obsession of time. I rate this book a 2 out of 5 because it only touches on how the Mayan’s contributed to science.
