I had the hardest time finishing this book because I felt like there were too many scenes that were redundant or just useless. They should have been cut out. For example, there were a lot of scenes between the protagonist's Uncle Callum and the creepy Cormag talking about a secret Cormag was holding over his head. Several people witnessed it so I thought the witnesses would mention it or be a part of revealing that something shady was happening but they never said anything so these scenes show more were redundant or the author thought he readers were too dense to get there was a secret the first thousand times. There are a lot more redundant scenes between different characters which irritated me.

I didn't really get into the story until it was almost over.

I probably won't be reading any more of this author's books.

Nice story. Kinda odd conversations at times - i can't imagine anyone would talk like that. But a good read.
