Propaganda for children from the, um...glory days of the meat industry. Perhaps the most blatant understatement of the book: "The cattle sold to the feed lots are in for a real cow paradise--for a short time." Scary.
This book suffers from a split personality. The size of the book and the illustrations make it appear to be a children's book. However, there is a lot more information here than found in books intended for children. An author with this much to offer certainly could have written a serious history of locks for adults complete with end notes and an index. The book is illustrated entirely with drawings by the author but, as good as the drawings are, I would have liked to see photographs of the show more locks. show less
I haven't finished reading all of this yet, but here is my review so far:
Narrative overview, fairly straightforward and easy to follow. Explained the reasoning without excusing the behavior. There were several names to keep track of, but did a good job of introducing them in a way that made it easier to keep them straight. Want to verify the background explanations for Muslim beliefs and behaviors.
