Title: The Tree
Author: Scholastic
Book review by: Elle Brackett
This is the first book about trees that I have ever read that I have found interesting. The illustrations and layout of the book leave me wanting more information and more of the book. It uses a transparency technique to show the process that trees go though.
It leaves room for children to form their own inferences and then they lift the transparent page and the answer is revealed by picture and text. This book discusses many show more different types of trees and how they change. It not only teaches the viewer about trees but also different animals that make homes in the certain types of trees.
Finally the book teaches the readers about the leaves on the trees, and how they are all different and no leaf is alike. And how some leaves have seeds inside them. This book left me with other questions which would be great to find the answers and then record them in a journal. show less

Follows a chestnut tree through the seasons as it sprouts from its seed, blossoms, grows, sheds leaves, and drops new chestnuts that will one day become trees.
