This interesting This First Discovery book introduces young readers to ladybugs. They can discover the ladybug’s dual set of wings, explore the pattern of a ladybug’s spots, and learn about the ladybug’s habits. They can watch a ladybug lay eggs and see them hatch into larvae thanks to a unique transparent page that allows readers to peek “inside” to make new discoveries.

Following the exploration of the ladybug and its habitat, several other related insects are briefly introduced show more and a short quiz [find the five animals in the picture that are not insects] ends the book. Although young readers will enjoy the transparent pages that animate the insect development and habitat of the ladybug, adults will need to help young readers with the text in this read-with-an-adult First Discovery book.

These little "First Discovery Books" are so wonderful. I love the clear overleafs on the detailed bright pictures. Even though these are for very little children, I think of these little books as miniature works of art.
This book highlights the morphological structures of different night creatures like barn Owls, true owls, bats, frogmouths, etc. The most interesting part of this book are the habitats, adaptive structures with different functions, behavior, and the physiological features of the owl. The author Gallimard Jeunesse and Sylvaine Perols narrate different phases of the owl ’s life cycle with intricate pictures. I prefer seeing the bone structure inside an owl, so the students can be engaged to show more identify the parts. Once students will see the bones, they can connect the theory of evolution with the bones of an owl. The ending portion of this book signifies the difference among various night creatures’ habitats, locomotion, movements, and adaptive behaviors. show less
The human body is a short book showing the parts of the body in pictures and words that would be easy for a young child to understand. It goes over the organs and the bones and of course the skin.

I like this book and so do my children. This book has many great pictures with color and interactive pages. It doesn’t get as graphic as some other books about the body do and that keep the embarrassing questions to a minimum.

There are many activities you could do with this book like a art project show more with the bones making your very own skeleton, Also you could have game pin the organ on the body, show less
