Finally got my hands on an affordable copy of the long elusive, but much beloved Okami artbook. I learned so much from this collection of artworks, especially through the designer's commentary. The quality of the images vary, some are more pixelated than others but overall depicts many details and concepts clearly that are always a real treat to look and study, no matter who you are. The book is not a gaming guide with walkthroughs or strategies on enemy takedowns- it's 288 pages of show more incredible paintings, illustrations, and other artwork that reflect the Ukiyo-e style and Japanese mythology. Everything in the book is captioned and character designs are explained down to the detail of their own concept history, the artist's reflection and can even include why they wear what they wear and other lesser known trivia. There's quite a lot of information but it's all worth it since the storytelling aspect of this game is powerful. I think my only gripe is small enough to look over, but they don't give the (English) names of some of the characters. Okami is my favorite video game and it feels excellent to finally have this secured in my own library. I read it cover to cover and will find myself returning to it occasionally just to admire. I would recommend it to any art appreciator though, as I think it would leave a strong impression on them or at least inspire them to pick up the game/watch a walkthrough. show less
Before I say anything, I have to make my bias clear: I am, and have always been a huge fan of Ace Attorney, from when I played it on my friend's DS to now.

And as you can see by my rating, I really do love this book. Although it's official (I believe it's stated somewhere), these are all actually fan-written and fan-drawn, which explains the variety of drawing styles. Nevertheless, the fan-work are all at the highest quality. Some stories are touching, some are funny, while other's can show more probably cause your teeth to rot.

My favourite story is a tie between Chibi (child) Edgeworth and Edgeworth falling sick. Both stories are humorous, and especially for Edgeworth being sick story, shows the childhood friendships between Nick, Edgeworth and Larry.

Yes, I know that you can find free fanfiction on sites like fanfiction.net, but it's always good to support the fans. Plus, all the short 3 panel gags are simply too hilarious(:

I absolutely love Megaman, especially classic Megaman. This is a great item for any Megaman fan to have, and I bought it. It not only comnbines the art of Megaman and Megaman X from previous Complete Works, it also has new material in it. I almost bought the first Megaman Complete Works book a few years ago, but they were so expensive, and I am glad this one came along as I never bought the other one.

So why 4 stars? Well, some of the pictures are really small. Like bonus promotions and show more postcards, some of these images are practically little more than thumbnails, which disappoint me as there are some gorgeous full-page pictures in here but some of the smaller pictures should have been blown up as well. Nonetheless, it's a great item for any Mega Man fan. show less
interesting to see the art work go from lively and bombastic and energetic and explosive to that generic boring look they went for for mvc3
