This is an excellent post apocalyptic setting which allows you to play in literally any sci-fi or fantasy genre of your choice, or to blend them all into one (if you have enough sourcebooks :P), however it seems to most reward "cybertanking"-- or rather you will have the highest chances of living and overcoming obstacles if you have the biggest damage dealing MDC (1 mega damage capacity = 100 structural damage capacity points) cannon, and the biggest MDC capacity power armor. Perhaps with show more careful GMing other routes, such as psionics, and supernaturalism could be explored but we never really got there. show less
One of the best examples of the 'kitchen sink' game; it's theoretically possible to play ANY sort of character from any Palladium system in Rifts, which usually leads to severe party inbalances unless the GM and players are highly cooperative. The game can be a lot of fun for the right group.
Siembieda's foray into horror gaming. Not a bad game, but the system makes it difficult to instill the sense of fear and worry required for true horror.
Another Dungeons and Dragons clone, but with better writing and layout. Also with several different magic systems, new races, and a campaign setting. Since Palladium Games is still in business, Siembieda must be doing something right.
