Logging along the Denver & Rio Grande: narrow gauge logging railroads of southwestern Colorado and northern New Mexico by Gordon S Chappell
Having just traveled in the area around Antonito and Chama I now understand why things are so barren down there. The game was how fast can you cut, get out and start another area. The photos are very interesting although the captions can be a bit hard to follow. The text is adequate but more editing to reduce the unneeded details would have made it a better read but maybe that is my 21st century impatience with wordy prose kicking in!
