I am a fan of H. Norman Wright and was excited to finally get this book. I am a mother of four children - and as all parents know each child is drastically different. My first was a difficult baby and toddler but by far exceeds maturity and grace at the age of ten. My next to youngest however was a "perfect" baby that turned into a difficult 3 and now four year old. His quick temper and angry outburst make it difficult to talk him through things. In fact both of my boys are somewhat this show more way. I become so used to being able to reason with my oldest, to explain consequences and know she would choose the right path that I was, and am still to a certain extent, thrown off balance with my boys and youngest feisty girl. Being thrown off balance I began to yell or slam my hand down on a surface to get attention - then I would threaten, threaten, threaten. Over and over my husband said to follow through - but honestly I stayed worn out as a stay at home mom and home school teacher. Seemed my whole day revolved around upheaval.

This book was excellent at bringing out solid points on communicating with each child on their terms while showing respect and getting getting respect for your authority. I enjoyed this book very much and have found it helpful - Though to be honest I am having to keep it handy for review and not shelved just yet.

Thank you Gospel Light for this review copy.

This is one of those books that should be on every Pastor's resource shelf. I would also encourage it to be in the hands of the Women in women ministry who stand in the capacity of counseling women. It is a quick reference to many situations and circumstances backed with solid scripture. Wright has long been one of my favorites because of his solid biblical foundation in his writing.

Wright does not offer "feel-good fluff" or over-used christian cop-outs like "It is all for the best", "Be show more happy" but rather he does what he has always done best. Wright goes straight to the bible, with open honesty he deals with compassion and the Truth to show how to handle each situation.

Dr. H. Norman Wright is one of the greats! A must have for Christian counselors, laymen, and those in positions in the church to offer counsel.

Thanks to Regal for this review copy.

Gets to those tough questions that helps establish the necessary communication in a relationship. My wife and I went through this book before our engagement, and it only confirmed that we were meant for each other. There were many questions that were not pertinent to us, but all of the questions were good to at least consider. Highly recommended to serious dating couples.
First, let me preface this by saying I am by no means a Christian. I did, however, enjoy reading this and found some comfort in it. I would say if you are open-minded and grieving, you should give this book a chance, even if you aren't Christian.
