This book contains versions of 8 well known fairytales that were originally printed in France back in 1696 by Ch. Perrault. Each is proceeded by a brief historical background passage and illustrations from different versions of the story. I really enjoyed reading the introduction to this book that talks more about Perrault and how he came to create the world's most popular fairytales.
Understand and enjoy Shakespeare with Jennifer Mulherin's lively introductions. Follow the story of each play, get to know the characters, find out about the background, read the quotations and look at the superb pictures.
