Does a math book really belong here, on LibraryThing? Can I say that I've read a math book?

In this case, yes. W. Michael Kelley is a genius, using linguistic power and humor to shed light on a subject that has long given me the cramps.
One of my goals in my older years is to tackle advanced mathematical theory - more advanced than I learned in college. This means reviewing mathematics that I learned decades ago. I was able to review algebra I and II with this book.

Starting with the basics such as what are different kind of numbers to quite advanced concepts, each problem starts with a question and gives you the answer as well as a road map of how to get to that answer. I would answer each problem, check my answer and, if show more necessary, go through the steps to find where I went wrong.

Highly recommended.
