Worth keeping as a record of what sociology was like as of 1985. But all the old debates on functionalism and neofunctionalism have been rendered obsolete by systems theory.
La dicotomía micro-macro debe considerarse como una distinción analítica y todos los intentos por vincularla con dicotomías concretas -tales como "individuo versus sociedad" o "acción versus orden"- están fundamentalmente mal situados. Sólo puede lograrse el vínculo entre los micro y lo macro desde un punto de vista analítico.
