This shouldn't be your first book on Kant, but should definitely be on your list if you have an interest in delving further into his philosophy. The German first edition of this book, Mensch, Gemeinschaft and Welt in der Philosophie of Immanuel Kants, translates to Man, Community and World in the Philosophy of Immanuel Kant captures better the spirit of the book than the English title. This is an excellent study of Kant by a Marxist philosopher ( one who believes Marx was a humanist ) and is show more a good introduction to his thought. Lucien Goldmann afirma que a visão de mundo do autor sempre será expressa, voluntariamente ou não. A literatura é fortemente influenciada pela sociedade, sendo muito importante entendermos os fatores econômicos e as relações entre as classes sociais para que entendamos, também, a obra literária. Alguns pensadores dizem que essa forma de conceber o literário rebaixa os valores espirituais ao colocá-los no mesmo patamar das contingências sociais e econômicas. Goldmann contesta show more essa visão de mundo afirmando que os verdadeiros valores espirituais não se destacam da realidade econômica e social, mas se dirigem precisamente para esta realidade tentando introduzir nela o máximo de solidariedade e de comunidade humanas.
