From Amazon:

Ginger and her husband, Earl, are in for a wild ride in Calamity, Nevada, along with the other BHN ladies–college student Kindra, mother-of-four Suzanne, and sassy senior Arleta. They came to town for the Invention Expo and some outlet shopping, but instead they endure lost luggage, broken air conditioning, and a long line of people angry at hotel owner Dustin Clydell. With the Invention Expo and the Squirrel Lovers’ convention both in town, the Wind-Up Hotel has somehow show more overbooked. Before the night is over, a man has been found dead in a teddy bear costume, the Invention Expo has been canceled, Binky the water-skiing squirrel has gone missing…and the authorities want to talk to one of the BHN ladies! What else could possibly go wrong?

My Thoughts:

Sharon Dunn has a knack for writing hilarious fiction at the same time she tells a good story. A master at constructing a cozy mystery, Sharon skillfully weaves in all the elements that keep the reader guessing. The red herrings, false clues, dead-end trails, it's all there. It's not the type of book I usually read...that's the great thing about group challenges... but if you are looking for a mystery and suspense book on the lighter side then this certainly one to consider.

Death of a Six-Foot Teddy Bearis one fast-paced and delightful ride. A missing cat and a water-skiing squirrel, combined with a cluster of outrageous yet believable characters will have you eagerly flipping the pages to see what happens next. Not to mention trying to figure out who-dun-it.

Sometimes the danger comes for what you hold dearest… and sometimes the only thing stronger than fear is love that won’t let go. This story unfolds in the echo of a father’s cry, a mother’s memory, and a friendship that runs deeper than duty. A child missing. A beagle tracking. And two people forced to trust what they cannot see — both in the dark and in each other.

The title says it best: Double Protection Duty. This story is about the doubling weight of fear and love, friendship show more and loss, sacrifice and surrender. When one of Kenyon’s twin boys is taken, the story becomes a relentless chase… but beneath the danger is a deeper pull: the choice to trust God with what you cannot hold.

And that’s what made this audiobook unforgettable. Raina and Kenyon are people whose faith is forged in fire. Their bond unfolds in the background of bullets and betrayal… and yet, the heart of it all is quiet surrender. Not just once, but daily. Doubled. Repeated. Relentless.

The narration adds urgency and tenderness in all the right places… but it’s the layered faith that will stay with me most. This is more than suspense… it’s a story of being kept by God, by grace, by promises that don’t break even when everything else does.

Perfect for listeners who believe faith isn’t a backdrop… it’s the protection, the anchor, and the only way through.

I received a digital audio ARC from the publisher via NetGalley. I am not required to write a positive review nor paid to do so. This is my honest and unbiased review. My thoughts and opinions expressed in this book review are my own. My review focuses on the great writing, engaging narration, and the story’s wonderful content, ensuring transparency and reliability.

What do you do when your identical twin becomes involved in a deadly cat-and-mouse game with a gem-smuggling ring but you are the one who becomes their target? Author Sharon Dunn spins a tale of mistaken identity, spousal abuse, and deadly killers who will stop at nothing to find missing diamonds. Catherine is hiding from her abusive ex-husband, her twin Victoria is on the run, and FBI Agent Ryan McCloud may be the only person who can save them!

This nail-biting story kept me turning the show more pages to see if Catherine could escape her abusive ex and if Ryan could help these twin sisters find peace and justice. Kidnapped in Montana is an exciting suspense story with intriguing characters, a great setting, and a realistic portrayal of learning to trust again. I recommend it to all who enjoy romantic Christian suspense.

I received a complimentary copy from the author. There was no obligation for a positive review.

Sharon Dunn has gifted readers with non-stop action in Defending the Child. Marielle Coleman, a child psychologist, encounters her former fiance and DEA agent, Graham Flynn, as she strives to protect her foster son from the man who murdered his mother. Chaos ensues. The themes of God's timing and the ways He uses suffering and loss are woven into this story, leaving readers to ponder their own response to these themes within their own lives. On a personal note, I was also reading Instruments show more in the Redeemer's Hands by Paul David Tripp as I read this book. It was amazing how the themes of these two books, one fiction and one non-fiction, interplayed with one another, enriching the impact of the fictional tale.

I recommend Defending the Child for fans of romantic suspense in need of a quick read. By giving the male and female protagonists a past relationship, the author is able to speed up the relationship building process without sacrificing the authenticity or integrity of the characters. I am grateful to have received a complimentary copy of this book from Harlequin's Love Inspired Suspense via NetGalley without obligation. All opinions expressed here are my own.
