What at first appears to be a simple reference book of symbols and what they signify turns out to be rather more interesting, and in fact invites us not to just memorize a litany of "this means that," but to absorb the symbols as a way of thinking. Since it is translated from French, it includes many elements of ritual and symbol with which Anglo-American brothers may not be familiar, which makes it also an easy introduction to French Masonry. Beautiful illustrations fill many pages, so it show more is a brief text that covers a lot but does not go very deep. show less
