Evidence-Based Treatment Planning for Disruptive Child and Adolescent Behavior, Companion Workbook (Evidence-Based Psychotherapy Treatment Planning Video Series) by Arthur E. Jongsma
This small companion workbook is well set out. However, I must say at the outset I was disappointed when it arrived because the DVD does not come with the book - clearly didn't read that one too well. Some of the components of the book are not useful without the DVD, however the planners are very good and make the booklet worthwhile. However, the other Jongsma Books (therapy planners) are better value for money.
The Child Psychotherapy Homework Planner gives you lots of ideas to work with young people. The Planner is linked to behavioural outcomes in both the Treatment Planner and the Progress Notes Planner. These books are worth the investment.
Working with young people always means looking for new and creative ways to engage them in therapy, especially adolescents. This book is an absolute tool for any professional working with this age group.
The Progress Notes Planner sets out commonly seen disorders and behavioural problems in children. It nicely addresses various options for each clinical presentation and interventions for each of the disorders. It ties in directly with the Treatment Planner and the Homework Planner, making my life easier. I cannot recommend these books highly enough.
