Reviews
Being a fairly definitive survey of the underappreciated art movement which was in its pomp at the turn of the last century. The great advantage of the movement for a survey such as this is its diversity; it's difficult to pin down and write about but that lends more diversity than usual to the chosen illustrations. The author's comments are always intelligent and often profound.
Being a much-needed choice of the paintings of the underappreciated Symbolist. The liberal sampling of illustrations is well-chosen, captioned, and reproduced. The chapter commentaries are thematic.
