Very simple, very charming.  Baby bear's 'mountain' is his daddy, naturally.  Well, unnaturally, cuz wild bear fathers are bad news.

Summary:
This book is about the love between a Grandparent and child. Grandbear tries to do laundry, but Babybear keeps interrupting her to play games, too which she obliges. Just when Grandbear is losing her patience, Babybear asks if he can help.

Personal Reaction:
I think this is a wonderful story. I have many fond memories with my Grandparents. The illustrations are phenomenal. The happiness of the pictures makes it difficult to be upset.

Classroom Extension Ideas:
1.I would have the kids show more remember a time when they had a lot of fun with a parent or grandparent. Next, I would have them write their stories in their journals. Later, we would share these stories in class.

2.Along with the stories, I would have each kid draw a picture that shows that happy moment in their lives.

genre: fantasy, This book is a pretty good showing of a fantasy. There is a separate world of bears who live in a house and cook food and talk. I think this is a good idea for a fantasy but it does not meet to many criteria for a fantasy.
the plot of this story is great. They use this story about giving gifts and then the baby bear realizes there is no gift for him to give grandbear so he is in distress but then he comes up with an idea and finds a present to give him. After he gives the show more gifts they all get Christmas kisses as the resolution to the story. show less
A good book for infants and toddlers. Baby bear and grand bear spend the day playing together until baby bear wares him out. This book has a very sweet story line.
