Simply Beautiful Photographs is beyond simple. It is brought to us by National Geographic and Annie Griffiths; both the embodiments of supreme talent. Anything by Nat. Geo. is amazing, in my book, and Annie Griffiths is a stellar photographer and writer.

The whole book is divided into sections; Light, Composition, Palette, Time, & Wonder. Each section is introduced with beautifully written introductions. These introductions portray the different aspects of photography in a wonderful light and show more show people the true art of it. The true skill it takes to make these images.

I think Simply Beautiful Photographs is a must have coffee-table book, especially if you're a photographer.

A beautiful book. It combines three of my favorite things -

* Absolutely breathtaking pictures from National Geogrphic
* A brief discussion on the elements of photography - light, composition, moment, motion, palette, and wonder
* Quotes - famous and not so famous - about photography and the specific elements

The book is organized into sections - one for each element. The section is introduced with a brief essay and then followed up by national geographic pictures that illustrate that particular show more element. Each photograph includes a caption with the photographic credits. Interspersed throughout are quotes. This would be considered a "coffee table" book, but I liked the physical size of the book. It is not so bulky.

If you are looking for a detailed how-to book, this is not it. If you are looking to be inspired, then this is the book for you.
