An introduction to Presidents' Day for the youngest readers. Colorful photos and very simple nonfiction text encourage children to read on their own as they take an in-depth look at the significant achievements of George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.
I didn't learn much new here, but still, it's a good, basic children's book about Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, the Jewish High Holidays. Something I did learn that I think is new to me is that some Jews eat apples with honey as part of their traditional Rosh Hashana food to signify a "sweet new year."
I think that "thanksgiving" is a good book because there is a lot of information i never knew. For example, in Canada they celebrate it on the 11th of October.
Picture book that explains the Jewish holiday of Passover. Explains symbolic meal and what each part represents. Simple photographs clearly illustrate story.
