I read the introductory essay by Updike for my research at work, and was very pleased with it. I think I'm more fond of Updike than I should be, based on others' assessment of him. I have read some of the bibliography but not the entire thing, though I am now working with it continuously.
A fine introduction to Updike and his Press. Like Rogers, Updike carried the flag of the Arts & Crafts Movement. Updike was reserved American businessman and a gifted book designer.
Not thrilling, but it had its moments of educational clarity.
