This is a good text about medieval cathedrals for art and architecture historians. The text is extremely detailed and good for use for classroom purposes but difficult to get through for pleasure.
Summary: not for beginners
This book is assuming knowledge that I don't have, so I found it impossible to read. I think maybe if I had more understanding of building engineering, especially how it was accomplished before we had the mathematical tools we have today, I might have been better equipped to get something out of this one
