This is another one of those rare books which can change your perception of life! This book is an abridged translation of Thomas Boston's "The Crook In The Lot."
a must read for any believer.... the modern english version is a very good translation without the challenge of "puritan-ese".... which i personally enjoy... but this version makes it kinder to all kinds of pallets :)

what comfort to be reminded of God's sovereignty in all things, especially the hard... and the encouragement to worship where ever and under whatever that loving Hand has for us... good stuff!!
This is a short read, written by Thomas Boston a 'Scottish Puritan'. He has a sensitive spirit but also a first class mind. A man with retentive memory but also a way with words, he always thought best with a pen in his hands, writing out ideas and arguments as they came to him.
This is a classic explanation of the Puritan approach to evangelism that is also an encouragement for anyone explaining the gospel to someone else.
Thomas Boston is introduced to us by J.I. Packer. In an extensive show more prologue he shows us a little of his life and times and the background to the writing of this 18th century classic.
"The 'scribble', so Boston tells us, was published in 1773. Since then it has been hailed by evangelicals as a masterpiece in ministry... The idea of a beginning preacher of 22 producing a spiritual masterpiece is startling, no doubt. But Boston was an unusual man." - J. I. Packer
