- Mary Clarke is one of Britain's leading dance critics and historians. In 1963, she became editor of Dancing Times, Britain's oldest dance magazine. Previously, she was the London correspondent for Dance Magazine in the USA and assistant editor and contributor to Ballet Annual. Ms. Clarke has been the dance critic for The Guardian (1977-1994) and the author of many books on dance, including some written with Clement Crisp. Among her numerous awards, she received the Royal Academy of Dancing Award in 1990 and was made a Knight of the Order of Dannebrog in Denmark in 1992.
