First impressions are immediately drawn to the luxurious faux leather and cotton stitched cover; but, promises of an authentic experience are slightly jilted by the inclusion of the trademark red and yellow, cinematic 'Indiana Jones' logo adorning the spine - an instant reminder that this is a film tie-in after all.
However, the illusion is quickly restored as soon as you open the book and your fingertips settle over the rough cut paper as page after page reveal a scrap book of cuttings, show more sketches, photographs and journal entries chronicalling The various events as depicted through the adventures of Dr. Henry Jones Jr.
If I were to have a slight criticism it would be on the artwork itself which just wasn't as convincing as it could have been especially concerning the detailing in some of the archaeological sketches which didn't live up to scrutiny.
Also, after a while the pages did tend to start to feel a little 'flat' - something which could have been made less so by the inclusion of the odd flap, fold-out or even a loose leaf item or two dropped in perhaps? A playing card for example on one page and some travel documents on another would have been nicer as individual items you could hold in your hand, and the inclusion of a pocket at the back could have contained a selection of personal photos or postcards which would have really enhanced the experience. Otherwise Its a fairly nice fan item that just misses the mark at being a 'fantastic' fan item.

As an Indiana Jones fan, I thought that this was great. Geared a bit towards young'ns, it was kind of silly in places, but as a movie tie-in, it was great. Neat pictures, drawings, notes, etc.

Too bad Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was a humiliating disappointment, and a stain on the series.

A fun read for lovers of the series. And I liked the last movie. So there. This was a gift from Kat. Thanks, Kat!
