Elizabeth Armstrong (2) (1952–)

This beautiful book gives a good feel for the modern movement of art and design during mid-century California. It provides a very good look at the creativity of the time: furniture and graphic design, modern architecture, art, movies, jazz, style... A wonderful coffee table book.

summary: this book is about the history of art. It also has story about how historical art was made through the world and by who made the art.
My reaction: I love art and I think it is a good way to express ones feelings . I know I am not that good of an artist but I enjoy going to museums and seeing the art and reading the history about it.
Classroom extensions: 1. Have the student draw up a picture of something they think would be considered art.
2. Have the students write about a time they show more believe they came across some art and have them try to describe it.
3. Do a small art project in the classroom with the students. show less
