The first "Hollywood Babylon" is one of my favourite books so I grabbed "Nashville Babylon" the moment I saw it. Of course, it turned out "Nashville Babylon" was written by someone who was not Kenneth Anger, and thus somewhat less interesting (although no doubt more factual).

"Nashville Babylon" mixes the dark moments in country music history with references to cousins getting married and weddings involved eight and nine year olds (who are possibly also cousins). Obviously Jerry Lee Lewis and show more his marriage to his 13 year old cousin gets a look in here.

When I read this I frankly had no idea who most of the people being written about were but perhaps with the passage of time I may have gained enough knowledge to understand more of the references. show less
