Borsook, Henry (father) - Short biography
- Eve Borsook is an art historian specializing in mural decoration (mosaics as well as wall paintings) but also works with ceremonial decoration in 16th century Florence as well as Italian cloister art. Her present project is the history of glass making with respect to Medieval mosaics, as well as an exhibition on Italian regional handicrafts, this time on textiles made at home, in association with Darcy Beyer, Rosanna Proto Pisani and Carl Strehlke.

Net terug uit Firenze, met dit boek in mijn koffer. Per wijk eerst gedetailleerde overzichten van gebouwen, kunstwerken en andere, maar dan gevolgd door uitgebreide toelichtingen, achtergrondgeschiedenissen en persoonlijke inzichten van de auteur, die alles tot leven brengen. De eerste editie dateert van 1966 en is verschillende keren bijgewerkt, maar je begint wel te merken dat het wat verouderd is. Toch de moeite om mee te nemen, als tegenhanger voor de oppervlakkige moderne gidsjes. show more (Overigens vind ik Firenze een prachtige stad met tal van wonderlijke kunstwerken, maar alleen maar genietbaar voor 10 uur 's ochtends, voor de horden toeristen buitenkomen). show less
