This is one of a series of books about the same characters, set in the same town, written by a crack team of writers. There are five books in the series so far and the authors have stated their intention to write two more books in the series. Each book involves a brother --- all related via the same father, though they don't necessarily have the same mother or upbringing --- finding love and discovering what it means to be a family.
While it isn't necessary to read them in order, I do show more recommend reading the series from start to finish because references are made in passing to events which happened in the other books. This book involves Josh Garrett, whose only ambition is to win a coveted bull riding title and make a name for himself on the national circuit. That all changes when he finds Eliana, a girl he has known since high school, crying and invites her to take him into her confidence.
From the start, focus is on the plot and on the development of the relationships between characters rather than suddenly throwing the two protagonists together in bed. The rich descriptions, lovingly rendered by two authors who are themselves from the southwest, combined with the unique and original characters make a blissful escape from reality for an hour or two.
Highly recommended reading, not as a romance but as a good book with a solid plots and characters with which we can all identify. show less

rabck from goaliegirl for OBCZ; story kept delving into the family ties and dysfunction. Finally gave up on reading it.
