We’re back in Autumnboro, the New Hampshire autumn-themed town, just in time for Thanksgiving. Our lovey-dovey couple from book one in the series (the Halloween book—totally check it out) is doing great and about to open their inn, and Josie, who volunteers at Pumpkin Everything, is feeling a bit forlorn about her crummy romantic prospects and certain family members who see her as a meal ticket after she won the lottery. Josie decides to throw a Thanksgiving dinner for those who may not show more have any place to eat or family to eat with for the holiday, and also begins growing closer to Riley, Kit’s brother from book one. This is a great series, perfect for lovers of fall, holidays, and who want a cozy romance! I hope Beth Labonte writes more holiday romances!

I was in the mood for a light, fun read and this book definitely delivered; very few books have made me literally laugh out loud, but this is one of them.
I enjoyed the main character, Tessa, immensely. She was so spunky and hilarious, yet completely relatable. I think most of us have experienced feelings for another person that were not returned and so I felt for what she was going through, being in love with her best friend, Nick. Tessa is also stuck in a job that she doesn't enjoy and has show more aspirations of doing other things, like pursuing her passion for art. What I really love is how witty she was; there were several times I found myself laughing throughout the book.
I thought I had everything figured out when it came to Tessa's love life. I completely adored Nick; he seemed to be so caring, funny, and an all around good friend to her. It was impossible not to fall in love with him too, although the fact that he was a married was a major roadblock. When she goes to the Las Vegas office and meets someone else, I was completely against it! How could she possibly find someone she loved as much as Nick? Then, as the story progressed, I began to see this new guy as a better and better fit for her, until I wasn't sure which man I liked better. I won't give away any big spoilers (notice I didn't even give you the name of the guy she becomes smitten with in Vegas), but I will say this: you will be very satisfied with the ending.
This book was amazingly funny and had some great romance in it as well. Any novel that can make me laugh out loud gets a huge thumbs up from me, and I'm very thankful I got the chance to read this one. If you like romance with some extremely comic moments thrown in, I promise you will love What Stays In Vegas. show less

Well I think I may have found another indie author to love.
I really loved the entire premise of "What Stays in Vegas" and all of the characters. Maybe there can be a follow-up following Tessa again some day. I would hope since I haven't liked a female character like this in a while.
The main character is Tessa Golden who is an administrative assistant (secretary) and is bored by her day to day job. The only times she is happy at work is when she is creating her own art out of office show more supplies or talking to her co-worker Nick who she harbors a crush on.
Due to one of the secretaries in their company going on maternity leave in Las Vegas, Tessa is sent there for three months to work with one of the heads of the company.
I have to say hands down this novel was so funny. I loved the character of Tessa and her interactions with her boss and the other characters in the novel. Also I think it was great to see Tessa getting to live the high life in Vegas (something that all of us would love to experience).
Besides the novel being funny and all of the characters it really did have some heart in it when the novel started talking about Tessa and showing how torn she was with her current life in Vegas and her life waiting for her back home.
I also loved that the author Beth Labonte has obviously been to Vegas since she was able to capture the city, places, hotels, and tourists quite accurately.
The only reason why I rated it 4 stars though is that I did get a bit frustrated with Tessa at times since she was being so dumb about certain things (i.e. Nick) and I thought that things wrapped up a bit too neatly at the end with regards to her and her future. Other than those two minor things I would definitely recommend this novel to other readers. show less

A cute fall-themed second-chance romance set in small town New Hampshire. I got this book for free during an Amazon freebie day and what a wonderful find! I saved it until September because it seemed like the perfect book to read when the weather was turning and you were in the mood for pumpkin spice lattes and cozy, crisp nights, and this book didn't disappoint!
When her grandfather is in a minor car accident, Amy drives up from Pennsylvania to help. Fall is in full swing, complete with show more maple leaves, doughnuts, pumpkin spice and lots of plaid. Oh, and also there’s her ex who she dumped back in high school when he was going through grief over the loss of his mother. So there’s that small detail to deal with. This was a cute, quick read with lots of GREAT autumn notes if you’re looking for a cozy, fall-themed romance. Five pumpkins in the autumn department and it was great to take a little trip up to New Hampshire for this delightful read!
