Cindy is a 15-year old, with a stepmother and two stepsisters who are incredibly superficial. With the prom coming soon, her entire school is obsessed with that alone. Cindy takes a stand against the prom and writes a letter to the school newspaper about it, and if she wasn’t enough of an outcast before, she is then… But, she has two best friends, the hippie-like, India, and the gay Malcolm to help her through it all, as well as her online friend BklynBoy.

This was just really show more fun and funny teen chick lit, if there’s such a thing! I loved it! It’s another one that made me feel like a teenager again, going through all the teenage angst that Cindy went through. I loved Malcolm and India. Loved the ending, too!! show less

As I was reading it, this seemed like a pretty good book. It wasn’t great, but some of it was entertaining and I think, in spite of the other ratings for this book, I might’ve given it 4 stars, or at least said it was a 3.5 star read. But oh my god, what was that ending? Seriously, what in the world was that? It definitely was not how I thought this book would end— and I don’t mean that in a good way. Just because of that, I don’t even think I can say this was a 3.5 star read. My show more rating now would be a 2.5 or 3. Honestly, if you’ve got this book on your tbr, just go ahead and skip it. I don’t hate this book, but I also don’t think it’s worth your time. There are way better books to read. show less
Josh is a film geek, and Dylan is the most popular girl in school. When Josh helps the incredibly selfish Dylan out in a jam (her expensive new purse has ended up in a fountain, and she needs someone to retrieve it for her), she promises to be the subject of a documentary on popularity Josh wants to film to get into film school. They learn things about themselves and each other they never would have thought.

I really enjoyed it! It was told from both viewpoints, alternating between Josh and show more Dylan. It was amusing at times, but I didn't quite like it as much as the first book I read by Palmer, Cindy Ella. But, it was still really good, and I hope to read more by her, as I'm enjoying her books a lot. I wasn't sure where exactly the ending was going to go, but I was happy with it. show less
So Simone accidentally changes her life because she can't really say no to people and she ends up in a Zumba class, and then back in it, and before she knows it she's eating veggies instead of snack cakes. Her best friend convinces her that it's finally time to have that makeover and suddenly she finds herself becoming on the outside something more like the person she's always been. Now she's got boys following her around a jealous stepmom (although it seemed like the stepmom was jealous show more before this). The thing is that this is the second fairy tale retelling in a row I've read where the protagonist obviously goes for the wrong guy. It doesn't matter if they're hot, if they don't share interests with you, find someone else. Still, I had fun watching her transform herself. show less
