Reviews
The film suffers from very little forward momentum as well as a lack of attention to illogical details that could easily be corrected and a dour tone at odds with the previous films' many moments of levity. That said, there are some nice ideas here - John Connor's rise to prominence in the Resistance, the various feints by Skynet, the identity issues of Marcus - they're just not very well capitalised on or presented. "Salvation" does improve considerably at about the halfway point, once its show more two plotlines merge, and frankly, the film should probably have started there, with Blair's meeting Marcus. If the viewer know as little of him as the Resistance does, that would provide the film with some suspense and direction, but alas, by then we've long since had hammered home he's a good guy on a path to redemption. All in all, probably the weakest Terminator film to date by a rather clear margin. show less
