Horrible book. This book is a waste of paper, and time. It's comparable to the books ghostwritten for any of the celebrity-politico-talking heads such as Ann Coulter, Alan Colmes, Bill O'reilly, Rush Limbaugh or even Michael Moore and Al Franken. This book is a great example of how not to write a political commentary as he states his opinion early on in the book with no legitimate 'evidence' to back it up. Then proceeds for 300 pages to repeat his mantra over and over as if it will become show more true. Any 'current events' that he discusses are essentially debunked or outdated by facts released within six months of the book. And it's filled with grammatical errors (he calls the hutu tribe in Rwanda the Tutu's, and not on purpose) All of this would be somewhat excusable if he could be entertaining(like Moore and Franken), but he's not. He thinks he's spewed out some serious political analysis for his ghost writer to put in book format, but really it sounds more like a whining child throwing a tantrum and repeatedly insisting that he's right. He either needs to hire a new ghostwriter or else he needs to grow out of 5th grade. show less

Sean Hannity wrote this book in the midst of the campaigns prior to the 2004 presidential primaries. I'm rather late in picking up the book since we've already been through the 2008 elections. I expected the book to be dated, but I found that only about the last third had lost most of its relevance. While the book's main purpose seems to be to present an argument for the re-election of George W. Bush, Hannity builds his case by reviewing the major conflicts of the twentieth century from show more World War II through the Cold War, the first Gulf War, and the events leading up to 9/11 and the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. I didn't learn anything new from the book, but found it to be a useful refresher of mid to late 20th century history and a reminder not to get caught up in the emotions of the moment, but to take a long view of current events. I don't know whether the book convinced any undecided voters to vote for George Bush in 2004, but I suspect that Hannity's arguments were persuasive mostly to those who already shared his world view. show less
While lacking the superior wit and intellect of his more famous colleague Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity manages a decent summary of modern conservative philosophy in this book. The writing on the whole is only average, but I found Sean's personal story compelling (from troubled teen to construction worker scrapping his way through college to finding religion and becoming an exemplary family man as well as reaching professional success). This gives him more credibility in discussing show more economic/political issues than many so called "intellectuals" on both sides of the political spectrum, hence the 4 stars instead of 3. show less
If you are politically conservative and/or love Sean Hannity, you are certain to enjoy this book. If you are neither, read it anyway. Perhaps your political viewpoint will become better balanced.
