First, this book is heavy. Literally. It weighs, like eight pounds.

If you haven't followed UF, you may find yourself wishing for annotations, as much of the humor is strongly dependent on the technological state of the art at the time of original publication.

This is still a great book. It's funny, fills in a lot of blanks from the previous books and if you've lived through the decade covered, you'll find a lot of familiar and nostalgic things to laugh about.

Worth owning, especially if you're show more already a fan of UF. show less

This is a collection of comic strips from the webcomic User Friendly that were published in 2001. It includes the 9/11 tribute strips. My particular copy was a gift from the cartoonist, who signed it for me when he came out to San Jose in January (J.D. is waaay cool). User Friendly is a comic by, for, and about geeks. Pros: It's a very funny book, and takes me down nostalgia lane to a time when jokes about living in a missile silo show more were funny. Cons: Some of the jokes are even above my geek IQ, so I don't always get them, and they can tend to be a little repetitive (which is OK in a one-a-day format, because you're not reading them all at once). It helps to read one storyline, finish it, and stop reading for the night; this is why I took 3 days to get through the book, by the way. show less
Check out my review at http://backofthebook.ca/2009/11/09/what-would-jesus-do-if-he-were-on-a-website-a... . In brief, the book is based on the experience of the author as a successful web cartoonist. If you don't already have a popular site, this book may not be very useful. That said, if you're a fan of the User Friendly web comic, you might find it interesting to read about the business behind it.

Perhaps we should be grateful that it isn't really about how to make money quick on the web. show more That seems to involve creating those sites that are nothing but ads. The book gets three stars for what it's not, as well as for being an interesting backstage look at the business of User Friendly. show less
"The strip's humor tends to be centered around technology jokes and geek humour."

Ack, my anger is rising. Fuck you, "Illiad"! This is shit and everything on the internet is shit. We need to go back to bullying nerds like now, because they made everything shit.
