George DiCarlo is proving to be quite a matchmaker, even in death. He may have met his match with Gage & Jonquil though. Gage is bound and determined to dislike Jonquil even if she does seem nice & there’s some chemistry there. Jonquil was interested until she realized Gage wasn’t. Now they both are fighting the chemistry & George’s plans tooth & nail.

Ms. Tullis has written another enjoyable easy to read romance. Like the others in the series, each story is self contained & has an show more element of suspense. In this case, Gage’s resort is having an unusual amount of repairs crop up, his family is being threatened & his sister is up to her ears in gambling debts. While Gage is trying to avoid falling for Jonquil, he has to figure out who is behind his troubles. Both Gage & Jonquil have problems with spoiled, jealous, self absorbed younger sisters that like to rewrite history to suit them. I really enjoy this series & the sisters not only falling in love but also finding their way into becoming a family. show less
💗Applause, applause, applause....

No surprise to me.....I LOVED this first book of the series. I really like how although they each had heartbreak, and really bad things has happened to them... They banded together at the shelter to become sisters of the heart. I can't wait to hear the backstory for the rest of these fierce women. In this book they take their winnings and buy a building together. Living all together in one secured building while redoing what will eventually be their show more residential spaces, and work spaces. Thankfully they have the means to make it secure. Meena runs into her dead hubbys best friend Kaleb. Since the death of her soldier hubby, and everything that happened to her she lost touch with many people. Sadly Kaleb fell through the cracks. He's her sons godfather, and she'd always been drawn to him. Can she truly trust him though? Does he know about their windfall? Her running into him happened right at the time she started getting creepy Haiku emails and packages from a stalker. Her heart says he's safe, but her shelter sisters/sisters of her heart are a touch leery. Is it as it seems, or is danger closer than they thought? Enter this exciting world of these women who'd previously been knocked down, and took life by the horns and are living in THEIR terms! My superheroes! These awesome women love each other like family, and will do anything to protect their happy village. Stalker guy best believe they're not going to make this easy. I can't wait to slowly learn about each of these intelligent, big hearted, funny, and fierce women... Here's to the next book and peeling back the layers of this awesome family!! Three cheers for the SHELTER SISTERS!!!! show less
Cute and filled - I mean filled - with interesting recipes. The book is worth those recipes alone, half I have never heard of. No alcohol in the eggnog though? I don't drink the stuff anyway but on principle....The mystery was creative. There were enough suspects, small twists, and fingers to point. Unfortunately the big reveal at the end was only possible after a new major plot point came in within the last three chapters. This made guessing motive not actually possible since it was show more withheld. Kind of frustrating, but I actually pegged the villain by coincidence early on as a major guess and it turned out right. Cozy mystery fans will like the mystery lead, but they may have their patience tried like I did with the back and forth dates. She's supposed to pick between two love interests, not something I'm a fan of in the first place. Neither come across that interesting, but at least she makes a choice after all. I may have had more stake invested if I'd read this series in order, but I picked it up to fit a reading challenge. Worth a read, the author pens her words well, and who can resist delicious, creative desert recipes left and right? show less
What would you do if you woke up from a near fatal accident with no memories? You’d have to take the word of people that were strangers to you & assume it was the truth. As time goes on, things should get more familiar, right?

This was an intriguing story to read. You couldn’t help but feel for Adrianna and the position she was in. The confusion & pain has to be overwhelming. The interactions between her & the other characters were emotional as they tried to helping her come to terms with show more everything. She managed to weather the accident, numerous surgeries, a broken engagement & then came a medical emergency that completely pulled the rug out from underneath her. How she weathered the final storm said a lot about her & her character. The author did a fantastic job of expressing the emotions of all characters & the painful healing process. I really enjoyed this story & cant wait to read Danny’s story. show less
